Title: Marketing Coordinator
CLIENT:
Our client is an Engineering Plastics company and a subsidiary of a multibillion dollar European parent company, a fully integrated chemical manufacturer of industrial, agricultural and fine chemicals, as well as base resins. The Engineering Plastics business group has a significant presence in Europe and Asia. The client is an ISO and QS certified compounder of engineering plastics. The company starts with basic resins and through the addition of additives, modifiers, and colorants, changes the physical and/or cosmetics properties of the materials to meet customer specifications. The main facility is a union shop (UAW) of approximately 125,000 square feet situated on 22 acres with 240 employees
POSITION:
The Marketing Coordinator will report to the V.P. Sales & Marketing. He/She will assist business management in the development of business marketing plans. This results oriented professional will interact with sales, operations, procurement, logistics, customer service, quality and product development. This leader will support problem solving projects, train, and coach project teams and work with customers regarding products and applications
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Evaluate Competition – number of players, “who’s who”, competitive analysis, analyze and Advise management on how to optimize the total business based on thorough analysis
- recommend value proposition and investigate opportunities in new and existing market space
- Search for opportunities that go with the customer base, track the development process and know the likelihood of commercialization, understand how many programs are in evaluation, design validation and whether there are enough to reach future targets
- Monitor where the Sales and Marketing group is in terms of the development process and make recommendations on how to accelerate and improve the process
- Utilize Six Sigma basics to perform customer segmentation and “ cost to serve” assessments
- Establish and monitor the importance of the customer to the company against margin of return in order to understand how best to invest business energies in terms of expediting freight, tech service, product development,………
- Find market space that’s not an overlap of direct sellers and develop a clear cut strategy on how to make that happen
- Monitor and report on prices, rebates, commissions, discounts, consignments, stocks, etc
- Coordinate the complaints handling process
- Support business management in product portfolio administration
- Develop and maintain product data files
- Champion for trials, data generation, and product line management duties
- Support application development engineers and product managers
- Member of the technical help desk
- Set direction for selecting and deploying projects and monitoring progress of projects internally
- Maintain focus on strategies, fast turnarounds and product line goals
REQUIREMENTS:
- Degree in Engineering or Science/Technology
- Six Sigma Black Belt Certified preferred
- Experience in commercial positions preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in DMAIC process
- Analytical skills with emphasis on statistical methods
- Candidates must be above average, highly adaptable and mobile
