Title: Manager of Electrical Engineering

CLIENT:
Our client is a $60 million public company with 180 employees, headquartered in a 125,000 square foot unionized facility.   Their products are sold into the aerospace and defense industries and distributed on a worldwide basis for use in the movement of material and personnel and motion control operations.  They have become the market leader through organic growth and continuous improvement. The company, as a sole source supplier, has record levels of new orders, sales and operating profit. Their extended product line has already seen several new introductions go from concept to delivery in only two years.  The company enjoys a reputation for providing high quality products to the aerospace industry for over 75 years.

POSITION:
The new Manager of Electrical Engineering, reporting to the V.P. Engineering, will supervise a staff of four electrical engineers of varying experience. The right person will have a background in motor control systems and broad manufacturing knowledge and the ability to work efficiently and within budget in this demanding, high pace environment. He/she will be mindful of the “big picture”, while managing the day to day activity of the group. Responsibilities will include test, analysis, design, quality control and input into proposals. This intelligent leader will be called upon to raise morale, set priorities, manage resources and meet schedules in a timely and cost effective manner. The new Manager will be a mentor and capitalize on the individual strengths of all staff while maintaining positive work flow & travel as required to coordinate new product development & trouble shooting efforts with the customers or suppliers.

CANDIDATE:
The successful candidate will be a relationship builder that understands the importance of energizing the team, delivering results and commitment to disciplined engineering processes. He/She will be prepared for change management and set example as problem solver, team builder and a model of personal excellence, integrity and accountability.

• Ideally a BSEE, (MBA preferred)
• 10+  years of progressive experience in aerospace engineering with proven  project management skills
• Will  have demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills
• An aggressive, make it happen leader with “Fire in the Belly”, a passion to succeed and an appreciation for establishing high morale.
• History of successfully bringing projects in on time and on budget.
• Excellent written and verbal skills
• Must be an intelligent and effective communicator
• Knowledge of military specifications a plus
• Should have working knowledge of electromechanical systems

COMPENSATION:

• Base salary approximately $100,000.00
• Bonus: percentage of base awarded for meeting and/or exceeding company and individual objectives
