Title: Market Development Manager
CLIENT:
Client Company is a leading North American arm of a $350 million manufacturer
of specialty pressure sensitive adhesive films, foils and tapes for the
industrial assembly, automotive OE, electronics, graphic arts, medical,
and paper markets. In addition, they offer complete R&D facilities
to provide custom designed products to meet the needs of special applications.
Their parent company is a multi-national group that markets sophisticated
materials for industry worldwide. Company's medical products line entails
adhesive films, single/double coated cloth and foam tapes. They are a leader
in specialty medical tapes for skin attachments.
POSITION:
- Reporting to the Vice President Marketing, North America, this professional
will identify, research, prioritize and develop major new business opportunities
in new and existing areas that provide significant new strategic growth
to the company.
- Analyzes and defines the market for division product growth within the
assigned Medical market segment. Maintains a served market analysis
defining the total market, company market share, competitor market share,
and available market share.
- Develops end use marketing plans, business plans, sales strategies and
action plans for identified targets of opportunity that clearly define
objectives, goals, strategies and tactics, timelines and action assignments.
- Facilitates development of product specifications at strategic accounts
and coordinates implementation of application(s) between technical development
groups and sales.
- Chairs the Medical Market Direction Team to coordinate major projects through
cross functional product development teams.
- Initiates, leads, and directs division new business programs as approved
by the Vice President, Marketing.
- Manages product groups within specific markets to achieve annual gross
margin targets.
- Provides direction and leadership to other participating division functions
to implement marketing strategy and tactics.
- Develops and executes marketing plans and programs, both short and long
range, to insure the profit growth and expansion of company products and/or
services.
- Researches, analyzes, and monitors financial, technological, and demographic
factors to capitalize on market opportunities and minimize the effects
of competitive activity.
- Develops and recommends pricing strategy for new product and market driven
programs.
- Conducts marketing surveys on current and new product concepts.
CANDIDATE:
- Bachelor's Degree in technical discipline highly preferred. Marketing or
related Business degree acceptable. MBA preferred.
- 10 years industrial marketing experience related to specialty OEM medical
product. Professional on the way up.
- Knowledge of pressure sensitive adhesives and converting processes.
- Should be computer literate, proficient in word processing, spreadsheets,
graphics and database programs.
- Capable of leading cross functional teams. Able to "champion" products
through their entire life cycle.
- Excellent people skills, communicates well. Highly confident.
- Can define targets. Has eye on the big picture.
- Proven history of success on technical aspects of product development,
market development.
- Must be a strong team player. A self starter.
- Can interface with OEM sales force who sell the medical products.
- Understand how that market operates and how to serve it.

COMPENSATION:
