Title: National Sales Manager
CLIENT:
Client company is a $35 million worldwide leader in the development,
design and production of low power lasers and associated electro-optic
products used in many and diverse industrial applications. Located on the
West Coast, this company has experienced recent growth in excess of 60%.
They are positioned for continued growth through new product introduction,
vertical integration and acquisitions. Existing lasers are used to cut,
mark, drill, scribe and perforate a wide range of materials, including
wood, glass, ceramic, paper, textiles and plastics. The company's philosophy
is simple: To build high technology products for use in a variety of industrial
areas.
POSITION:
Reporting to the Vice President of Sales, this individual will be responsible
for management of all U.S. Sales efforts, including management of in-house
sales engineers. This position will involve strategic planning for short
and long term growth of sales department for all products.
- Implement and administer U.S. sales programs to maximize company's sales
and profits. This will require evaluating and executing the corporate goals
of establishing a field sales organization in the most economically viable
manner.
- Analyze and evaluate areas of success and weakness as a function of product,
geography and sales personnel.
- Manage team of inside sales engineers, including setting goals and monitoring
progress against goals for these employees. This will involve coaching
and monitoring to enable each employee to reach maximum job satisfaction
as well as peak performance.
- Responsible for evaluation of performance of manufacturer's reps, including
setting goals and monitoring activity compared with goals. This includes
the evaluation and financial benefits associated with the use of reps and
making adjustments accordingly.
- Act as backup to International Sales Manager.
- Travel will be required for customer visits, attending trade shows, and
facilitating the creation of the field sales team.
- Provide input on product development for both existing and new products
based on feedback from U.S. market.
- Improve communication and training materials as needed. This will encompass
any devices the U.S. Sales Manager feels will improve performance of sales
personnel by keeping them more informed about company's activities.
- Contribute to team effort.
CANDIDATE:
- Bachelor of Science degree in related field (Engineering/Physics) preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years U.S. Sales Management experience in a high-tech industry
and proven record of success in both technical sales and technical sales
management roles.
- Ideally, industrial laser integration experience.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Computer literacy, including efficiency with Windows software.
