Title: Product Line General Manager

CLIENT:
Client company is a $300 million global leader in the manufacture of electronic and electro-mechanical components, serving a broad range of markets including telecommunications, computer, industrial, instrumentation, automotive, aerospace, consumer, medical, audio and various other market segments. Their products are manufactured according to ISO 9000 and QS 9000 standards under Six Sigma quality programs. The company has 11 manufacturing facilities worldwide. Expansion of its worldwide manufacturing presence supports the companys core business objectives of close customer interface, 100% on time delivery, worldwide 24-hour-a-day design support and investment technology and new product development.

This Product Line General Manager will lead an established business unit that supplies encoders, potentiometers and integrated modules for automotive applications. This GM will have P&L responsibility for over $10 million.

POSITION:
Reporting to the Division head, this Product Line General Manager will work closely with plant managers, finance and other shared functions to ensure the quality, delivery and profitability of the assigned product line. Directly responsible for defining and achieving the business plan for the product line utilizing both internally developed and externally sourced product portfolio; understanding emerging market trends; assessing evolving end-customer needs; developing marketing plans for growth; formulating the technology road map for success; and setting direction and priorities for product development efforts. Accountable for strategic planning for product line, forecasting demand, and selecting manufacturing locations within the company as well as outsourcing. In addition to product line cost, pricing and profitability, the Product Line General Manager will be responsible for maintaining marketing liaison with sales channels and key accounts; ensuring that consistent practices and controls are applied to the product line worldwide; key support functions, including product management, applications engineering, design engineering, project management and marketing.
